        simonowens I think it should, but generally the weird thing is that most publishers don't take on the risk in the way you describe. The flow often works in reverse, where the person proves themself on an external platform and is hired off of that, or does this in addition to their ft role.

      simonowens I think the more significant thing to consider is, regardless of the brand, the brand is *really* the person, so even if they don't take their videos, they *do* take their audience with them. Which is why they reasonably feel entitled to take the product of the brand they built.

    simonowens Just generally, a serious minority of the audience is going "I love Guardians of the Galaxy so I'm going to watch James Gunn directed films." But that *is* how most people interact with podcasters.
