simonowens I think that's an oversimplification. In most of the media companies' podcasts are basically a one or two person show with very little input or labor coming from outside that immediate team. If you fire the whole team I don't think it is unreasonable to consider this question.

simonowens Like it takes 100s of people to make a Marvel film. Buzzfeed podcasts were like... 5 people max from ideation to production. So it's not crazy to ask for the IP when they leave, esp. in cases where the pub stops making the IP, or where it was heavily about those personalities.

simonowens & so many podcasts are based around a specific personality. So much so that they can't run w/o them. A good example is looking at The Escapist where they basically invited back the same people to re-activate their brands and the show brands were in hibernation w/o those people.

simonowens I generally think this even advantages the media org. I mean... is it better for these shows to go into perma-hibernation while the people who make them go off to work their personalities on similar projects or to allow the project itself to travel back and forth?
