So here's a weird thing: I have some USB audio devices & when they are powered (no data coming through, just getting power) from my desktop, they get a ton of audio noise, but when they're powered by a plug they get 0. Is it just the USB power output of my desktop vry irregular?

I have tried a lot more, I got a mixer to funnel my sound through, a USB sound card, a little device meant to better ground USB power that comes from computers and there really seems to be no way to eliminate noise while powering my headphones except to plug them into a wall.

I also tried a powered USB hub attached to my computer. Better, but could still hear a fuzz. My power strips are all full near my computer so I guess I'm going to be buying some long USB power cords.
