jbenton I've been in a lot of different places and also I currently live in NYC, but no I don't think either of those things. DC has plenty of problems, but also the rest of the US isn't exactly 100% on being safe for folks outside of the presumed default. I mean... look who is president

jbenton I'm not saying the 99% of the US is terrible, I'm just saying there is more to it than just sending various gov't agencies to random cities. Especially when one of the big advantages of DC is it has a particularly large population of PoC who can easily get involved in the gov't.

jbenton I mean, one thing will definitely happen to a government agency moved from DC to Missouri - it's going to get whiter - census.gov/quickfacts/MO - and I dunno, I think that's prob not a great thing.

jbenton The problem isn't the rest of the US outside of NE Cities is full of KKK and racists, the problem is that the percentage shifts enough in the midwest and south to make maintaining even the small advantages in diversity in DC more difficult. And that's bad for the state of gov't.
