Honestly, it amazes me that more journalist unions don't require anyone promoted from 'a job that is primarily writing' to 'a job that is primarily managing' get a minimum of a month of 1. management training. 2. interpersonal tutoring. 3. therapy.

As an entirely separate aside, about an entirely different but equally relevant problem: if you are surprised that someone teaching journalism mby did a lot of talking about themselves then boy have you never taken a college journalism class.
