Honestly, imaging having even a basic understanding of Uber and then going around claiming capitalism is functioning properly. bloomberg.com/amp/news/articles/2019-08-02/uber-and-lyft-investors-are-looking-for-signs-of-a-d-tente

A brief list of things each less expensive to fund in US federal 2016 budget than Uber's quarterly losses: - AIDS/HIV research & treatment - DEA - DOJ counterterrorism - ATF - Public Housing Operation - any individual unit of Dept of the Interior - entire CoE Civil Works division

Also: - the funding assigned for the ENTIRE legislative branch is government. That's right paying for all of 2016's congress, including the Library of Congress, both houses and the capital police AND MORE, cost LESS then the amount Uber lost in ONE QUARTER.

If you added together the costs of feeding all Army, Navy, and Air Force personal in 2016's budget it would only just come close to costing as much money as Uber lost in ONE quarter.

You couldn't just feed an army for a year with the amount of money Uber lost in a single quarter. You could feed 3 to 4 armies! You could fund the entire National Endowments for the Arts and Humanities, together... 16 times over!
