      1. The real thing this FTC Facebook decision says is: you better get ready for a disastrous patchwork of state privacy laws with good intentions and a high likelihood of accidentally enforcing the status quo. Because the feds seem unlikely to do anything.

      Big tech has proven to have the apparatuses to lobby on the state level and if you think that Congress doesn't understand ad tech wait until you hear questions from state legislatures in Middle America.

    I dunno what is going to solve this short of some hard core open consumer tech or a serious investment in pro consumer lobbying.

      Is there even a citizen facing organization dedicated to lobbying on these issues, in a balanced and realistic way, at this point? The EFF is great, but they have a lot on their plate.
