        tomcoates That's all fair, but I also think we've entered an era where the most effective way to change how companies work is to push their employees (particularly engineers) to campaign internally. The appetite for regulation seems so low, but there's this all new employee movement.

      tomcoates We can, and should, do all three. Lobby engineers to act ethically and use their value and stock to campaign internally and *also* push for regulation and amplify critical bad PR.

    tomcoates I think there's a huge internal fear, in big tech especially, that their employees would rebel because of bad PR, or that it impacts their recruitment. All three pain points need to be pressed together.
