      AthertonKD KendraWrites fordm briebriejoy But DS9's deconstruction is now more like standard episodic TV people encounter in the modern TV landscape. TNG, encountered in the modern context, is far more accidentally like deconstruction than anything you'd watch on TV today. It makes sense to start the modern viewer on DS9

    AthertonKD KendraWrites fordm briebriejoy Then you can bring them into the rest of Star Trek. The DS9 pilot really is the easiest entry point, especially if you skip the pointless TNG tie-in opening in the first few minutes.
