ChanderS I dunno. I didn't find the books exceptional in this regard. The fate of these characters early on was a lot easier to align w/character arcs b/c things hadn't gotten so dire as the show. The difference is character choice drove a lot more of the plot than it does now.Permalink On twitter.com

ChanderS Perhaps this is indeed a show writer decision but the consequence of the Night King, Bran, and how they hook into John finding out his background takes away a lot of the characters' power to alter the narrative arc. Would this have happened in the books? I dunno.On twitter.com
