      celrae Haha, it sort of was, though also useful and good. I also learned to budget, chart burn rates and related stuff. The IT program at George Mason U focused on producing engineering managers and this was the pre-capstone course for those of us who selected the entrepreneurial track

    celrae The idea of the program was to get technically minded people including engineers, tech writers, and product folks to have a broader technical understanding on the assumption you'd be managing multiple divisions and then end with you ready to be a senior manager on path to CTO.

      celrae I was there at standard undergrad age, but a lot of the classes were nights and a lot of attendees were already in the workforce. They also brought in a Toastmaster who was super helpful, at least for me, for speaking skills.

        celrae The technically focused stuff was fun, but the management side of things was really useful stuff, really the only things from college I still use constantly in my every day life. We also covered GTD system, resumes, interviews, and all sorts of excellent practical work stuff.
