      1. I've been thinking about the fake doctor quality certificates story ( propublica.org/article/top-doctors-award-journalist ) and I realized how pernicious a problem fake certification is and how we've got a similar issue in ad tech. What does it mean to be TAG or IAB Gold Standard? What is their methodology?

No one knows what they do or how they certify anyone, right? I mean, do they have a methodology? What conditions do companies have to meet? Is their technical capacity tested with technical tools? How can one trust any certificate without proof of their methodologies' accuracy?

Is there a white paper somewhere I'm missing?

Without this info, what makes them real certificates? What makes certification matter of we don't just take these organizations on faith? And why should we do that? Chronotope/655064201703137280?s=19

I'm not saying the existing certifications are fake, but without any data, at least that I've seen, how can we say they are true either?

What about all the ad fraud from 3ve? Did anyone get their certificate removed over that? Has anyone ever been de-certified?
