Kickstarter has been going along for 10 years on only $10mil of VC and 1 funding round. They changed the web by mainstreaming crowdfunding. If they've been able do that much for that long and no VC is willing to give them more money to expand then the system is truly broken

Safe, stable, healthy and diverse labor of the type that unionization encourages should be something companies, founders and VCs want, because it creates a healthy environment that can generate better products.
