celrae I don't think Ivys produce rich entitled jerks, to be clear, I just think they do a very poor job preparing their students to work in the real world. An education is not training. I've met Ivy journalists, from journalism programs, who can't write a pitch.Permalink On twitter.com

celrae That's not saying a rich entitled jerk or a good journalist can't come from anywhere. But the baseline programs at Ivy schools, in my experience, don't do a great job of teaching people how to work, no matter how knowledgeable.Permalink On twitter.com

celrae Good people can come from anywhere. But percentage wise, I don't see Ivy Leagues sending their student journalists to conferences, pushing the envelope on their reporting, or breaking new ground on news tech (exception: Columbia on the last). That's a failure of the programs imo.On twitter.com
