I will never understand the inclination to do Dark Phoenix saga instead of literally any other of the thousands of X-Men stories. Why do it if you're not going to actually do it right? That's the thing. A proper version of Dark Phoenix is a multi film affair and it requires chunks of the universe none of the X-Men films seen willing to put in. Even though they could! GotG and latest Avengers showed we can do super heroes in space and people are there for it.Permalink On twitter.com

Beyond all that, frankly the story is of an era. I'm not sure if it really works as well today. Even if it did, to pull it off requires a preceding Jean-focused film to properly give her character agency. Something which young Jean has even less of this time than the last.Permalink On twitter.com
