The choice isn't between 'no moderation' and 'mistreat employees'. This is a false dichotomy. antoniogm/1100065176152240129

If your company's job is to host content, and that content is often bad, you have a responsibility to moderate it. Moderating it is then part of your core operations. Moderating it with well paid well treated employees becomes a responsibility as well.
-
To say 'well you asked them to moderate content, why are you complaining about them treating moderators like shit' is to pretend that we have no capacity for reason under techno-capitalism. We can both Want a Thing, and Want People who Provide that thing to be treated humanely.
-
Yes the marketplace rewards the lowest-price providers and therefore encourages the lowest quality of human treatment by corporations, but we can still object. That's how law gets made.

Reading that top tweet is like reading someone say 'well you wanted the Titanic to have lifeboats and now you're complaining about how many. That's what you get for wanting lifeboats'
-
I'm honestly having a hard time imagining a worse bad faith argument than this.
-
I mean go forth with this terrible argument dude, I've never seen a Tweet pushing us down a quicker path towards regulation on Facebook and protection for gig workers and I'm all for that.
