Even if a publisher serves nothing but cache to bots it costs them money, when a lot of traffic is bots over a long period of time it can cost a lot of money. Pubs mostly lose money from bots, not gain it. If they did Mic would be a functioning company.

Where as most publishers are pretty far from even breaking even?
