        1. IMO the American Eternal War is a harder problem then most people think about. On one hand our intervention is often destructive, oppressive, & imperialistic. On the other hand, isn't there a moral imperative to intercede in truly awful human rights abuses?...

War is bad, but also--all jokes about America: World Police aside--when we came out of the Holocaust and said "never again", part of that was the eventuality that assuring that would include military intervention. But the problem is to not make things worse than when we begun.

I've been all over the issue in the past and even in print, because I think that different situations must be assessed differently, but I do think we will sometimes measure the price of intervention and come out with a 'yes we should intervene'.

I dunno, I just wish we had people out there in op ed land writing more thoughtful assessments then 'all war bad' vs 'all war good'
