petersterne Right. Not to mention some heavy software load would be required for users to check posts to assure they're not doctored and a core problem with the situation you mention is the readers aren't even checking the URL so seems like a solve w/o a problem.

petersterne I would say though, that hashing revisions as a process is a good way to inform down-stream syndicators of updates to content to update their own versions... but the AP's methodology for this while *very* crude, does work.
