    1. I'm noticing an interesting trend in news article page design as of late. The move to place sidebar divs within article-wells. I've been noticing it more frequently because I maintain an archival scraper and it is proving a challenge.

    I don't really have an objection to this as a practice (usually the reason for it has to do with support for full width ads (that cross the article well and the sidebar). It's just resulting in some real mediocre markup among some of the folks who are implementing it.

      So this is my little poke: if you are implementing sidebar-in-article as a technique, make sure your metadata is clearly labeled & article components have clear accurate markup. Don't do it for me, do it for the future of the web, which requires structured data & markup. kthxbye
