TravelingAnna I think Disqus is a solid tool, but the nature of how it makes money with ad means that user data is inherently compromised and leaky in ways that aren't great, but also... feels like a weird story b/c it's really just 'Nazis use comment sections' which is... ehhh?

TravelingAnna I mean... Disqus should kick those people off, even though their biz model likely makes the cost of such enforcement very difficult for them but, unlike Twitter or Facebook, no-platforming Nazis on Disqus isn't going to stop Nazis from using comment sections.

TravelingAnna Like I'm not excusing Disqus at all here... but this is way more of a symptom being described and it would be better to dig into the core problem which is... Nazis are on the internet now what? Or... why is this an issue that is more important on Disqus than another comment tool?
